                                          IMPORTANT NOTE

**********TURF-A-LOTTO results of annual draw**************

Thursday 22nd May @ 7.30pm

The below letter was handed to a Vagrants club member who lives in Stapeley and as it fundamentally effects the rugby club I have decided to publish it here....

This field is to the left of the one directly behind the 2nd team pitch.

                      Gypsy Caravan Park Wybunbury Lane

UPDATE!                           28 April 2008

This is an updated verstion of the flyer

Dear concerned resident

In the last few days, you may have received a flyer reporting that a planning application was due to be submitted for a caravan park on Wybunbury Lane. We can now confirm that an Application has been submitted, for a Gypsy Caravan Park – Reference No. P08/0509.

On the site, which is a 5 acre field next to Sunnyside, a large fence screen has already gone up and hard standing has been laid both at the entrance and on the site.

We have been informed by the Planning Department that any objections already received by them cannot be taken into consideration without a reference number. Therefore, we are sorry to say that for those of you who have already written to the Planning Department would you please re-submit your original letter quoting the above reference number – P08/0509.

For all other residents who have not yet written in and are, like us, concerned about this matter, we would urge you to write to the Crewe and Nantwich Borough Council Planning Department voicing your objections.  Every single letter counts and the greater the number, the better the impact on the Planning Authorities

THE DEADLINE FOR OBJECTIONS IS 16TH MAY 2008!

The content of your letter could perhaps include the following:-

“We don’t have any quarrel with travelling people, but we think that the site is wholly inappropriate for its intended use”

1.   It would mean development in the open countryside contrary to local planning policies, as shown on the local plan (2011) and national advice.

2.   It would cause unacceptable harm to the living conditions of neighbouring residents because of increased noise and disturbance.

3.   The increase of traffic on a country lane, plus traffic exiting and approaching the site would create a potential accident black spot.

4.   Ecology – There is an SSSI (Site of Special Scientific Interest) on Wybunbury Lane and ponds local to the proposed Gypsy Caravan Park have been officially noted as being the habitat of the Great Crested Newt, a protected species!

5.   Lack of mains sewers and possible fouling of Cheerbrook water courses.

Please address your letter to:-

Alan Millington, Head of Planning, Crewe and Nantwich Borough Council, Municipal Buildings, Earle Street, Crewe, CW1 2BJ
